Tuesday Topic

We're finishing the last bit of work on our rainforest unit.  Below is the display of their mosaic parrots.  They liked making the twisted-paper vines they used to frame frame their masterpieces.

This is parent conference week.  Our PTO is sponsoring an art contest/fund raiser and have posted a display of each class's projects as they did ours below.  When parents come for conference, they may purchase their child's piece of artwork for $1.  Our halls look so pretty right now with a wide variety of projects.  It's really a simple fund-raising idea that doesn't require a tremendous amount of work.  It doesn't raise a lot, but every little bit helps in a Title 1 school!

All four of our second grade classes used the materials from my colleague, Samantha's, rainforest unit.  They have really enjoyed everything we've done and have been so excited that many have done research on their own at home on the computer.  Check out this unit in her  TPT store, Camp Learn S'More.
